WATER SENSITIVE URBAN DESIGN PROJECT IN ADELAIDE

UEL Summer Scholarship Program
University of Adelaide

The presentation was based on the Water Sensitive Urban Design Project conducted throughout the 6-weeks program of the University of Adelaide Summer Scholarship. It involves framing the definition and scope of WSUD through the understanding of theories and its implementations. In addition, precedent research and case studies were also presented as a reference. The methodology of the project comprises mapping analysis of the Adelaide-Port Adelaide transit corridor to justify interventions and to locate potential pilot sites for an experimental study. Drawing from the findings and analysis, a brief proposal to replace the selected impermeable mass car park with semi-permeable land cover was proposed.
